During a trip to Japan, Steve Jobs asked Sony’s chairman, Akio Morita, why factory workers wore uniforms. Morita explained that after the war, people had very few clothes, and companies had to provide their workers with something to wear. Over time, these uniforms evolved into unique styles, becoming a way to create a bond between workers and companies. Issey Miyake collaborated with Sony to design a taupe nylon jacket that could easily transform into a vest, thanks to its removable sleeves.
